How much do static caravan movers charge?

Most UK static caravan moves cost £1,500 to £5,000 all-in, per our cost guide. The price depends on caravan width (10ft, 12ft or twin unit), distance, escort needs and whether de-siting and re-siting are included. The operator sets the final price, so the quote is the figure that counts.

Width matters more than most owners expect. Narrower units cost least per mile, and the rate climbs with width and the kit a wider load needs. Distance comes next, then what happens at each end: disconnecting services and lifting the van off its pitch, and setting it level on the new one.

If you want the full breakdown before you ask for a price, our static caravan moving cost guide walks through local moves, long distance and siting, line by line.

How it works

Three steps, and only the first one needs you. Most people finish the form in about a minute.

1

Tell us the route

Name, phone, email, where from and where to. It takes about a minute, and we reply within 24 hours.

2

We match you to a specialist

We pass your move to a static caravan transporter that covers your route. Add caravan width, timing and access notes if you can; it makes the quote accurate first time.

3

The operator quotes and moves it

The operator sets the price and arranges the move with you directly.

Areas our static caravan movers cover

We have indexed 533 firms that transport static caravans, gathered from Google Maps and web research and counted in October 2026. They are spread unevenly. Counting each firm by the postcode on its listing, Yorkshire and Humber postcodes hold 63, Scotland 36, Wales 36, Devon 9 and Cornwall 3. Most of the rest sit across England, and 78 listings carry no postcode we could read.

That is a count of firms in our index, not of operators who have agreed to take our jobs. It does tell you something useful, though. Far South West coverage is thin, so moves to and from Cornwall need more notice and often cost more, because the lorry may travel some distance before it reaches your caravan.

Wherever you are, the form is the same. Give us both ends of the route and we look for a mover who already works that road.

About Static Caravan Movers UK

Static Caravan Movers UK is a trading name of Transport Quote Compare Ltd (company no. 15704673). We match your move to a specialist static caravan transporter covering your route, so you compare real options instead of ringing round firms one by one.

We don’t run lorries. The operator who quotes you is the one who moves the caravan, and they set the price. Our job is to put your route in front of the right firm and to explain the costs plainly before you commit to anything.

Static caravan movers: your questions

The things owners ask us most before they book a move.

How much do static caravan movers charge?
Most UK moves cost £1,500 to £5,000 all-in, per our cost guide. Caravan width, distance, escorts and whether de-siting and re-siting are included drive the price. The quote you receive is the figure that counts.
Can you tow a static caravan yourself?
Static caravans are far wider and heavier than touring caravans and are moved on specialist trailers, so most owners hire a mover. Moving one yourself raises road-rule and insurance questions, so read our transport guide first and check the rules on GOV.UK.
Can I move my static caravan to another site?
Usually yes, but the new park has to agree to take it, and some parks have rules on the age and condition of the caravans they accept. Ask the park first, then tell us the route and the caravan width and we will match you to a mover who covers it.
Do I need planning permission for a static caravan?
It depends on where the caravan will sit. A licensed holiday park, private land and a garden are treated differently. Our planning permission guide explains each case.
How soon can my caravan be moved?
It depends on the operator and the route. The quote form asks when you want to move (ASAP, 2 to 4 weeks, 1 to 3 months or flexible) so the operator can reply with what is possible. We do not promise a lead time.
Do you cover Scotland, Wales and the South West?
Yes. We have a dedicated page for each of Scotland, Wales, Yorkshire, Cornwall and Devon, and the national transport hub covers the rest of England. Far South West moves may need more notice, because fewer specialist firms are based there.
